Using a Party Tent Cover to Ensure an Event’s Success

There is nothing worse than having your outdoor wedding or birthday party ruined by a sudden onslaught of rain. Although most party canopies provide shelter from light rain, a heavier downpour might be another story. If you do not want anything to ruin your party, better prepare for the possibility of heavier rains by using not only regular shelters, but also a party tent cover.

A party tent cover is an additional material that provides security by sheltering the main tent from a possible heavy downpour and can even help break heavy winds. They can be erected like a traditional flysheet or rain fly suspended over and clear off the roof of the main tent. They can also act as an outer tent which functions like a flysheet, except that outer tents extend right down to the ground. If an outer tent is to be used, make sure that it is pulled far from the inner tent so as not to hinder air circulation. A triangular shaped cover over a square or rectangular main tent is preferable since the side space of a triangular outer canopy will offer more space and provide a wider gap from the main tent.

Covers for party tents can also include floor coverings. These floor covers act as a traditional groundsheet that serves as a waterproof barrier between the ground and the guests’ feet. Most party tent rental companies offer flooring options that protect from the damp earth without ruining the aesthetics of the party. Flooring services can include parquet sections, snap-lock flooring and even carpeting. Just make sure that the renting company or manufacturer has been told that protection and aesthetics are both on the top of your agenda.

Another option when it comes to additional protection is tent awnings. These materials, although functioning mostly as a walkway protection, can also prevent the entry of slanting raindrops and winds and act as an attractive entrance decoration. The ticket is to know how to position it in such a way that it will not hinder guests’ movements and will not obstruct the observer’s view of the inner tent.

A party tent cover is used to protect the main tent from unexpected rains or heavy winds, but it doesn’t mean that this protective shelter should distract from the beauty of the main tent’s appearance. Knowing how to choose the right shade, the right material and positioning the cover in the right way can provide additional shelter without diminishing the glorious sight of the main tent.
